Winning is the ultimate goal for committed and dedicated athletes. I have always felt that the greatest elation that an athlete might feel is the thrill of winning the greatest prize of all, a championship. Because this country has been accustomed to rewarding excellence, and unfortunately we think that excellence only means winning a championship, we forget that competition at the highest level should also be recognized. We fall miserably short in that area. Not every team can win a championship but many teams can achieve excellence.
