Loving the journey and living to the destination.
Pride is the Mountaineer Band.
Pride is the John Belein.
Pride is when I hear the Band do the pre-game at home games. I feel the pride of being a West Virginian.
Pride is wearing the gold and blue.
Pride is no matter how bad things are to keep on trying.
Pride is being a West Virginian.
Pride is display of passion and belief in yourself.
Being confident no matter if you win or lose, and being able to hold your head up in the hardest of times.
Personal Pride is taking pleasure in one's own endeavors, and using personal integrity as a barometer to measure one's own success. Pride in the external sense is taking pleasure in the endeavor of an outside entity, and deriving joy from your (perceived) connection with that outside entity. I.E.: I am a proud Mountaineer, as I take pleasure in the success and integrity of this university, and enjoy associating myself with it.
Pride simply is feeling validated. It's a vice if used to decide. It's a virtue if is used to give confidence, until the confidence reaches the point of arrogance, at which point it becomes a vice.
Pride is living in VT country driving around with Mountaineer flags & a WV on your car with your head held high no matter who we are playing or what the score of the game is .
Pride is the trait of being spurred on by a dislike of falling below your standards.
Pride is recognizing the value of your choices and accomplishments. I do not think pride should be attatched to gender, race, nationality or sexual preference because these are not choices or things that must be worked for. Overcoming the adversity that may come attached to these things is certainly a point of pride, but a single personal outcome of the great genetic lottery is not.
Pride as defined by Beano Cooke is Friday night in Morgantown WV before a Pitt football game.
Pride is more like a feeling of self insurance to help your stanima and engerness and can also help you reach greatness
Pride is doing what you hate to do and loving every minute of if.
Pride is getting the WV insignia tatooed on your arm. I’m marked as a Mountaineer For Life!!!!
I would like to comment on that I feel as if out of all the comments made that none really satisfy the question. All I see are further confusing the issue. The question is “What is Pride?” It isn’t how would you define it or what are your feelings towards it. This is an “is” question. I feel as if a good start to working out this one is first to determine its parts.
Pride is recognising your achievements and understanding your failures and moving on in live to a better tomorrow.
Pride is anything that causes one to believe in themselves, hold one’s head up a little bit higher, or to challenge oneself. My reasoning is because when I think of all the things that cause me to feel pride in myself, I gain a better self attitude and perspective.
Pride is something inside of you that keeps you going. It brings a smile to your face and is something you hold dear to your heart. No matter where you go in life, your pride carries with you. Pride is a passion.
P.s. And I do have to say, being from out-of-state, West Virginia does have the best fans, and the most pride around!
I believe that pride is something that comes from within. Pride includes confidence and happiness. You can be proud of yourself, proud of where you are from, and even proud of someone else. There are many reasons to be proud. Pride shines through a persons entire being and is important for having a healthy life.
Pride. The very word is all over sweatshirts and t-shirts around campus. Pride is something that you show on the outside for what you believe on the inside. If you have pride, you feel strongly enough about something to show it off. It is good to have pride, whether it be for your work, or your football team. Pride keeps not only ourselves united, it keeps groups united as well. Pride distinguishes a fan from an observer and pride can be seen when your heart is fully immersed into what you love to do.
Pride and arrogance are often confused. My definition of pride would be to feel happy about what you have done. Arrogance is only being happy about who you are and not caring about others.
