Friendship is a tricky thing. Is it better to have one or two close friends or a bunch of “friends” that you go to for different things. As I get older and wiser and have went through a handful of what I would have called “true friends” I realize that what I have believed was true – that the people in our lives are with us for however short or long a time to teach us something. Sometimes that lesson is about something in particular and sometimes that lesson is that we need to be more cautious about who we trust. I do feel that we need those lessons and any amount of time and energy that we spent on nurturing those relationships was not a waste of time as long as we learned a lesson in the process.

A true friend is a tricky thing to describe since, I believe, everyone has a different opinion. I must say through my understanding and personal experiences of friendship, a true and best friend can be related to the life partner that’s perfect in every way except that they are of the same gender. This is the only way I can describe my own relationship but I am sure it is not the most common. True friendship does not require a sexual relationship or power struggles between genders; it transcends love by nullifying the feeling of jealousy or despair (especially during times of being apart). I might even say it’s still love but one that has already fought the battles of trust and won. This may be a rare case since I’ve had a best friend from 2nd grade to college but nonetheless, it’s how I see a completely true friendship.

If i had to choose between fun, casual pals or one or two true friends. I would choose the true friends of mine. Being in a group of fun pals can be fun. But with that many people, it can get out of control very quieckly.

I believe you need to have close friends and a bunch of semi-distant friends. this because to have close friends is putting yourself out there to be hurt by them if they so choose. Now the semi-distant friends they may not choose to be always with you or even tell you their darkest secrts but if you loose them it isnt as big of a deal. therefor you need both sets of friends to lead a ahppy life.

i think a true friend is a person that can help you durning life,they dont want to hurt you or take you down if they get in trouble. They dont use you for anything or try to hurt you in anyway. A true friend is someone who you can trust. A trustful friend is someone who you have known for a couple of years and you tel eachother secrets and all. A friend who askes you to steal something is not your real friend. You have to decide who your real friend truly is. My friends are my friends because we have common interests like playing hockey and playing video games together. Their my friends because their smart and we have known eachother for a long time. One of my old friends, Mike Tuberdike, used to be my friend but he stopped liking me all of a sudden. He wasn’t a true friend.

People have many diffrenet perspectives on what is a true friend. Usually a true friend is someone that is behind you one hundred percent. They would belive in the things that you belive in you would do the same for them. Also, they would be there for you when you are going threw tough times. a true freind is a freind that supports you through all the hard times and is always there for you. a true freind does not put you in a bad situation or if you are in one will help you get through it. a freind is supposed to be true and loyal to youn as you are to them.a true freind doesnt do something and blame it on you when you had no part of it but if you do you and that frwind should stick together. i think that a true freind shoyuld be someone you would trust with anything you tell them and wont tell anyone. if you are in a bad situation and your freind knows they should help you even though they promised not to tell and just6 tell someone what is wrong to help you through that.your true freind should be with you through anything and help you.

The definition of friendship is “the state of being freinds” I think that this sums up friendship very nicely but i think that they nee to add something this state of being freinds has no end unless the people make it end. Frienship will go on forever but the poeple in this friendship are the ones that can end it. Poeple say that thier freinds ended the friedship but if we take a look at what happend we will see that we were the ones that made it end. If we can realize that then we can find the true meaning of frienship.

true freindship does not come across many times in the course of a liftime. most of the time people only hear what they wanna hear. if u love writing and someone tells you you suck, you do no want to hear that. you can not always be honest with freinds but having a true freind telling the true should rarely be a problem

I think that a true friend is when you have a friend who you are really close with and they are always truthful to you. I also think that for someone to be your true friend you both have to trust each other and respect each other. As a 50 something daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher and friend, my life is full of friendships. In fact, my sister?s friendship with Dr. Ryan first brought The Question and Lancaster High School together.

I believe one part of being a true friend is to ?go to the funeral home?. The article from NPR?s All Things Considered by Dierdra Sullivan titled ?Always Go to the Funeral?(http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4785079) says it better than I could. For me supporting someone in grief requires true friendship. The happy times of proms, parties, weddings, babies, cottages and birthdays come easily. Sharing your heart in sadness requires commitment. Not knowing what to say, what to wear, how to act, whether you will cry, how devastated your friend will be, what strangers you may meet, or what memories of your own sad times will surface are faced when you attend. But your true friends will face it all and be there.

friendship is just as important as your ture love.when you meet a person who is nice kind , respectful and have alot in commen you aqurie a thing called friendship. a friend has to be loyal.my friends are my friends who care about me and comfort me when i went thourgh bad times.and if my friends are doing something bad and harmful to others i would comfront them for there own safty.normaly i only would have a few true friends because they are loyle to me.if you love someone you care soooooooooooo much about them if you had a friend you would care but not so much.you should always be happy in a friendship.
